A native annual to the United States and Mexico, Lanceleaf sage (Rocky Mountain sage, blue sage, sage mint) is typically found growing in pastures and prairies. It contains nitrates, making it toxic to grazing animals; reported cases are limited to animals eating contaminated hay. It is widely distributed in the U.S. If found in Fremont County, report this weed to your local weed and pest office.
