Yellow Starthistle (State designated weed)

A 2 to 3 foot tall annual from Europe, yellow starthistle has sharp spines underneath its flowerheads and can cause chewing disease in horses. It infests all western states, but has only been found in a few places in Wyoming. If found in Fremont County, report this weed to your local weed and pest office.
